2015 Lake Erie Beach Clean-up

The fourth annual Lake Erie Beach Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The Lake Erie Beach Volunteer Fire Company located at 9483 Lakeshore Road will host the event. Volunteers will mobilize from there that morning and be deployed throughout the area. The fire hall will also serve as the drop-off location for the trash collected throughout the day. The cleanup will target vacant lots, parks, recreational areas and streets that are major thoroughfares in the beach area. The cleanup also includes the neighborhood and commercial area along Old Lakeshore Road.

St. Vincent DePaul and the Western New York Coalition for Donated Goods will be at the fire hall to accept clothing and household goods for repurposing. The Lake Erie Beach Neighborhood Revitalization Task Force, Town of Evans and Lake Erie Beach Volunteer Fire Company are coordinating the event.

The task force needs many volunteers! Trash bags, rubber gloves, safety vests, water and food will be provided. Participants should bring work gloves and sunscreen. Contact Lori Szewczyk at 716-549-3915 for more information.

Your participation is greatly appreciated!
